What is personal integrity? Synonyms for personal integrity are honesty, honor, good character, principle(s), ethics, morals, morality, virtue, decency, fairness, scrupulousness, sincerity, truthfulness, and trustworthiness.
What is structural integrity? Structural integrity is the ability of an item—either a structural component or a structure consisting of many components—to hold together under a load, including its own weight, without breaking or deforming excessively. If you follow the news these days, it seems that lots of people are noticing a loss of integrity, personal as well as structural. It's not only the infrastructure of our country that is crumbling before our eyes, it appears that a lot of people are nearing a point of collapse. No wonder there is so much fear in circulation. What can be done to restore integrity? AMAG says that in order to maintain personal integrity one must follow three simple steps: 1. decide to choose; 2. choose something (anything) from the array of choices that appear; and 3. act on the choice selected. This may sound like a simple formula and one that should be easy to follow. However, many years' experience has shown me that I'm not the only one who struggles to consistently accomplish all three steps all the time. It's easy to fall down during the process and leave out one or more of the steps. AMAG says this is when "dis-integration" begins. This means that a process of disintegration is initiated as soon as one or more steps are withheld, neglected or postponed. The good news is that as soon as the process is resumed by filling in whatever step(s) have been overlooked, integration is restored. Test it for yourself and let me know what you experience. How has this pattern prevailed in your life so far? I'd like to hear from you.
